THEME of Contest:
Short Introductory Story
THEME: Place one or more of your Original Characters(OCs) in a Halloween situation. You can dress them up, put them in a haunted house, or maybe even in a graveyard searching for ghosts! Draw whatever you want as long as it relates to Halloween.
DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 31, 11:59 PM CENTRAL STANDARD TIME.
It is now past the deadline! No more entries will be accepted. Thank you to everyone who participated! It may take a couple days for judging to be finished, so please be patient. There are quite a few amazing entries and It will be quite tough. 
)To clarify something. In the Requirements, it is stated that your entry must be new art, made by you, for THIS contest. This means I will not accept entries that are entered in other contests. In my opinion, that's almost like cheating. I know my theme is rather broad, but that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to be treated as it's own unique contest. I think the prizes are nice enough to warrant just a little effort. Point is, it was stated in the requirements that your entry should be for this contest. It probably wasn't made clear enough, so I'm hoping to clear that up.
On another note, you may enter more than one entry. Just be reasonable with the amount.
You will still only have ONE chance at winning though. Or you can only win once, that is. Also, I changed the journal skin to an easier to read skin.

As some of you might know, my mother died a week before Halloween last year.
In order to cheer myself up and distract myself a bit during that time, I am going to hold a Halloween Contest.
To make it more festive and fun, I will save up some money to make the prizes better. For example, If enough people join, I will award premium memberships and points.
If anyone wants to donate / contribute any prizes to the contest to make it more special and fun, I would greatly appreciate it!!Just send a note if you're interested in doing that.
REQUIREMENTS
The Theme is Halloween. So your entry must reflect the holiday in some way.
The art piece must have a finished quality to it. Meaning it can't look like you just slapped it together. Time, effort, and thought should be put into it. No fan art will be accepted. That will make judging more fair. Don't copy or steal anyone else's art or ideas. Again. Time, effort, and thought should be put into it. Why not make something you're proud of, right? : ) The entry must be a new art made by you. No bases or repaints! The art must be uploaded on deviantArt. The art must be new art made for this contest. Where's the fun or challenge in submitting something already made? Be creative!! We're all creative people! So show it! Get those creative juices flowing~IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Contest Ends on October 31st. Only one entry is allowed. Though, you may change your entry before the deadline if you want. All art mediums will be accepted. Digital, Traditional, Painting, Sculpting, Carving, Sewing, Writing, Photography, etc etc. All mediums will be given an equal chance. Why not spread the word? The more people, the merrier! You could research the origins of Halloween and make art depicting that. What are some good Halloween stories? What events happened on Halloween? What are some common or uncommon Halloween Traditions? How is Halloween or All Hallows Eve celebrated around the world? What does Halloween mean to you? 
On a side note, I don't consider the Artistic Commons to be fan art. You know, old stories, myths, legends. A witch jumping over a moon, dancing skeletons. Any sort of idea that has been around for so long and everyone is familiar with. Fan art is things like Pokemon, Naruto, My Little Pony, or the like. Just a reminder, I'm not accepting fan art because it will make judgement more fair.
