Phoenix Prototype Charm

Something my dad requested.
He's been having a rough time. The death of my mother (who he hasn't really spoken with in years, and his grandfather, who he spent the last 6 years being the caregiver of) has been hard. So, he wanted a phoenix, which is a very symbolic creature.
I just hope he likes it. Since my art is a little too... cutesy. Plus, he wanted it smaller, but this is what came out. xD

This was a bit of a pain to sculpt. There are seven tail 'feathers' that I sculpted. Their placement is a little awkward. I hope to improve that if I make more.
I want to know what you guys think before I start doing more.
Do you guys like my interpretation of a phoenix? Is there anything I need to change about it?
